Yoga has many health and wellness benefits, including:

The benefits from Yoga are very similar to CrossFit; improved stability, better alignment, increased mobility, balance and body awareness. Through Yoga, CrossFitters can grow stronger physically and mentally, ultimately leading to enhanced performance, speedier recovery and safer movement.

What to Expect

This class is designed to help all athletes and improve their flexibility, balance, joint mobility & breath awareness.  Yoga props are used to release tight muscles and to assist in deepening the poses.

We offer different styles of yoga:

Vinyasa

 

This class is a flowing style of yoga, linking breath and poses together while encouraging you to surrender to your truest self. All levels are welcome and encouraged to attend. This practice allows for a variety of movement experiences and focuses on both stability and mobility. Relaxation is also included at the end of class. If you are new to this practice or have been doing yoga for some time, this class will offer you the many physical and mental benefits of yoga.

Yin

Yin is a more passive style of practice that focus on relaxation and opening of mobility in the body and quieting of the mind. These poses are done mainly on the mat with a longer hold to “give in” and settle in the pose for 1-4 minutes. It is a quiet and slow practice that encourages an introspective connection between mind and body, and is open to most ages and levels. Props are supplied to assist with these long holds to allow each participant to maximize their session. This is a wonderful practice that is the perfect “Yin” to CrossFit, Running, Tennis or other high intensity activities “Yang”. Adding Yin to your weekly regiment will provide greater recovery and reduce exercise induced soreness as well as increase your performance in all that you do

FIToga

FIToga (pronounced “Fit-toga”) is not your Grandmom’s Yoga class! This dynamic class is a workout focused on functional fitness and proper use of opposing muscle groups working together. An athlete needs to integrate proper body movements and alignment with strength and flexibility for an efficient body in motion. This class will also increase metabolism and fat burning with the integration of some interval training to create an extremely well-rounded class for those seeking a well-rounded lifestyle. Whether an avid weightlifter, golfer, competitive athlete or weekend warrior of any sort, this program is for you. Designed to prevent injury, decrease recovery times, and build strength in conjunction with efficiency of movement, FIToga should be a part of your overall fitness plan. .. Most importantly, you will learn to trust what your body can do and how to work through and overcome the mental and physical challenges and limitations you will encounter in your own training or competitions.

RunYoga

RunYoga is an offering unique to Revolution Fitness. This ground-breaking class is the perfect sandwich which consists of a 20-minute yoga flow, 30-minute run, finishing with a 20-minute yoga flow. RunYoga is an offering unique to Revolution Fitness and brings the two wonderful worlds of running and yoga together. RunYoga begins with a 20-minute vinayasa flow immediately into a 30-minute run and finishes with a 20 minute vinyasa flow and final relaxation to thank your body for showing up. This class is designed for all levels of running and yoga in a fun and uplifting atmosphere.

MOBILITY

The mobility class is designed to help you improve mechanics and to provide you with the tools to perform basic maintenance on yourself to become a better athlete. We will teach you how to recover from intense workouts, achieve better positioning and manage soreness all through foam rolling, self-myofascial release, PNF, trigger point, self- massage, and stretch band work.
This class is about stretching with intention. It’s about positions, ideas, and the focus changes weekly. Inspired by the hard work and knowledge cultivated by Kelly Starrett through www.mobilitywod.com – all levels are welcome. While the perfect complement to CrossFit athletes, no CrossFit experience is necessary.

Family Yoga

Open to all levels and ages. This class offers a combination of breathing, poses and relaxation. Poses are taught at a moderate pace, with modifications provided as needed. Family yoga is designed for our busy lifestyles and we know that there are times you must divide and conquer so bringing friends/family is very welcomed but not necessary to enjoy class.

YogaTails

Offered on the first Friday of the month, YogaTails is designed to help bring our community closer. Yoga tails is a wonderful Vinyasa flow class followed by either a BYOB cocktail hour in the studio, nearby field trip, or local spirits brought into the studio.

Youth Yoga

Open to all levels and ages 8 and up.  This 45 minute class offers a combination of teaching and practicing the importance of breath, flexibility, strength and proper movement in a fun environment.  Taught at a pace and with music designed to keep the kids engaged and with modifications provided as needed, our goal is to foster a love of yoga and healthy living surrounded by peers who share the same values.
